Fixtures Update

Following the announcements about the end of lockdown and the resumption of the Pitching In Isthmian League season, we are now in a position to confirm the next few Staines Town FC friendlies, beginning with a series of friendlies (as the players go through a new “mini-pre-season), and then on into our exciting League fixtures over the festive period.  Please note that some of the friendlies have unusual kick-off times, and also that the Ashford and Harlow league games will also be kicking-off early. Three New Signings

Staines Town FC are delighted to announce that the trio of Ben Cotton, Kain Adom and Exuace Bizima have agreed to sign ahead of the upcoming season. Pre-Season Plans

As you are aware, First Team training has restarted during the last week, and early signs are that Paul Barnes will have a large and enthusiastic group of talented players from which to select his squad. The FA have indicated that the Step 4 leagues, including the Isthmian Division 1 South Central, are aiming to start on Saturday 19 September (with the possibility that our FA Cup campaign may start a week earlier).  We have been assured that League matches will not go ahead until we are permitted to admit spectators, and consequently these dates are still only provisional. Captain Announcement

Manager Paul Barnes is delighted to confirm that Temi Eweka is to be captain for the 2020-21 season. Temi 21, is a powerful centre back who has previously played for VCD Athletic, Hastings United and Kingstonian. FA Statement – Season Termination

The FA has announced via the Isthmian League as to how the 2019-20 season will end. The main points of the statement are as follows: 2019-20 Isthmian League season will be ended with immediate effect and all results will be expunged No promotion or relegation of clubs between Steps 3 to 6. The planned restructure for the National League System (NLS) will be deferred until the start of the 2021/22 season. The decisions taken by the NLS leagues will be recommended for ratification by the FA Board and FA Council. The FA statement is available to read in full here.

Barking FC Fixture Postponed

The home league tie versus Barking FC has been postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak. An update will be made upon re-scheduling of the fixture. The Isthmian League has made the following statement about the ongoing situation: The safety and wellbeing of all those associated with the League – our players, volunteers, Club Officials, Match Officials and supporters – is our number one priority, and we are closely monitoring the situation and carefully following advice from Public Health England. Emirates FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round Draw

Following the Swans’ dramatic win over Hanwell Town in the previous round, we have been drawn away to Haringey Borough in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the competition. This marks the second time the two sides have met this season; having already shared a 3-3 draw in our opening pre-season game. The tie will take place on Saturday 21st September at 3pm.
