It is with much regret that Staines Town FC announce the departure of Manager Mick Woodham this morning. Mick was appointed in the spring, and has secured victories in six of his eighteen matches in charge, but, crucially, League form has fallen short of expectations and we are currently at the foot of the table (barring inactive clubs). Following defeat at Westfield yesterday, Mick tendered his resignation this morning (3 October 2021). Although the Club was disinclined to accept it, Mick felt that he had pushed the squad as far as he could, and in the circumstances felt it best to pass the job onto someone else.
Staines Town FC extends its thanks to Mick who has conducted himself with utmost professionalism during this difficult period, and we wish him well with his future endeavours in football.
An interim appointment can be expected shortly, and all squad members are reminded to attend training as usual on Tuesday to prepare for Saturday’s match against Three Bridges.
