Recap
The Swans made the trip down to the south coast to face Gosport Borough at Privett Park on Saturday 25 August.
Head Coach Cristian Colas made three changes to the starting lineup from the 3-1 victory at home to Chesham United.
The Swans didn’t start the game quickly, with Gosport scoring after 7 minutes as McAllister headed home from a loopy cross by Suraci.
After 15 minutes, Suraci extended Gosport’s lead to 2-0 when he was able to slot the ball into the bottom corner after sloppy defending allowed the ball to fall to him in the box.
Despite a two goal deficit, the game was balanced for the remainder of the first half as both sides had opportunities to score.
The Swans best opportunity of the first half fell in the 21st minute when Odetola had a one-on-one with the Gosport keeper but was thwarted by an outstretched leg.
Lu Ndovi flashed the ball across the box in the 27th minute as the Swans tried hard to get a foothold back into the game.
Gosport almost made it three to the good in the 38th minute when a shot curled just outside Agboola’s post.
Despite these chances, the score remained 2-0 at halftime with the Swans needing to mount a comeback in the second period.
The Swans started the second half the brighter of the sides, nearly scoring in the 59th minute when Lu Ndovi rounded the keeper but blazed over the bar from a relatively tight angle.
Staines had another chance in the 86th minute when a neat one-two between Fry and Gogo resulted in a curling shot wide of the Gosport goal.
Thomas Gogo finally got a goal for the Swans in the 91st minute driving in a low shot from the edge of the box, however it was too late for a full comeback to be made.
The Swans have a two day turnaround for the next fixture when they face Beaconsfield at Wheatsheaf Park.
