Recap
The Swans entertained local Combined Counties League side in Hanworth Villa in the Middlesex Senior Cup.
The game marked Robert Easom’s first home game in charge and a chance to progress into Quarter Final of the competition.
Initially in the first half, the Swans had a significant amount of possession without too much threat to the opposition goal.
However, this was until Luca Charles-Valentine unleashed fury from his right boot and fired in a stunning opening goal in the 20th minute.
Staines then threatened as the break approached, forcing a couple of saves from the Hanworth keeper.
Shortly after the break, Thomas Gogo doubled the lead with a brilliant flicked finish from a George Fry cross.
Despite being two-nil down, opponents Hanworth grew slightly into the match and rattled the crossbar in the 68th minute.
However after 80 minutes, substitute Makhosini Khanye put the tie to bed with a powerful volley from the edge of the box to make it 3-0.
Hanworth were able to get a consolation goal as the 90th minute approached, much to the annoyance of Harris in the Swans’ goal.
Despite this, the Swans ran out comfortable 3-1 winners and progressed to the next round, facing Harrow Borough in the Quarter Final at Wheatsheaf Park.
