Dear STFC Supporters & Community,
In the current circumstance we find ourselves in as a nation, with the coronavirus pandemic causing panic, uncertainty and risk to lives throughout the world, it is all of our responsibility to stay safe, healthy and look out for each other.
We all know the important role the beautiful game plays in so many lives and the modern world, so for the footballing world and community it has been strange to not have any fixtures or schedule to keep, plans to make in order to make sure we are all ready for the weekend or upcoming midweek fixtures, the routine of training, or our trip to support the team we all love and dedicate so much of our lives and time for.
With the above said, in this situation we all find ourselves in, the health and well-being of all our supporters, volunteers and local community is whats of paramount importance…we all know that the majority of non-league clubs are run by and supported by dedicated people whom have been involved for many years, older people whom have stuck by “their club” through thick and thin, been there from the beginning or when everyone else maybe gave up or quit on the club they love so dear….so now we must make sure we provide support and care for those whom have done so much for Staines Town FC.
From the moment I was lucky enough to be announced as the new Head Coach of STFC, I have been staggered with all the messages of support and the superb following in my short time. It has been a frantic few weeks, where we have been working non-stop to help turn things around and bring a new found optimism back to Wheatsheaf Park, a place I have always known to be one of the best clubs, grounds and support in non-league football. I know it has been a short space or time, but in that time, I have been lucky enough to meet many of the people that fall into the above descriptions, people whom have given a huge part of their lives to this club, and play a role that not many get to see…for me, these people are the club, they are the heart and soul of any non-league football club, they make our game what it is and without them, there would definitely not be an us!
As Head Coach of Staines Town FC, I would personally like to thank every single person past and present who is part of the rich history and tradition that makes Wheatsheaf Park so special and why the club is still so highly thought of and regarded.
With us all being unclear of what is to come both on and off the pitch in light of Covid-19, may I wish everyone associated to Staines Town FC safety, good health and well-being.
